This is what I was going to say. My son had it three years ago and those where his symptoms. My ped told me that there is no one test for it. They have to rule everything else out. It is important that it gets treated within 7 days or the effects of the disease can cause some permenant damage to the heart. Please have her ask Dr.s about this.

I was going to suggest Kawasaki disease as well. My cousin's son had it, and he presented exactly like that.

My daughter had a couple episodes where she had a high fever then broke out in a rash, but it didn't keep happening one right after another. Anyhoo, it turns out she had a virus, and by the time the rash showed up she was actually better and no longer contagious. These types of things apparently spread really easily, especially if the child is in school/daycare or around other kids a lot. By her pediatrician said she could have just gotten it from a door handle.
