Oh no I wasn't saying about videos as art not being age appropriate; I know for a fact that most kids by 10 know more about that stuff than me. I was saying that the content of the video wasn't for 10 year olds.

I used the original newscast as an example of media bias and taking quotes out of context. I also used excerpts from Sweet Brown's many appearances to demonstrate that SHE was not offended. That presents another side to the issue.

Had I known there was a parody, I likely would use it to underscore how the media can portray someone.

The kids in my school already knew about the clip, and that was how I discovered it in the first place.

That said, I don't really find it either inappropriate or appropriate for use in the context OP described. I can see both sides.

Well, I've seen her on several interviews, and she's so thrilled it happened like that.

Seriously, you HAVE to love her! And, she's not wrong. Who has that kind of time.

I don't think I would have shown that video to grade schoolers... But, this video turned her whole life around, and she couldn't be happier. I think she's been given a role on some comedy show, and she's been on Tosh.O. She's been on more interviews than Bill Clinton, and I bet she's a whole lot happier than he is too.

Race and income aside, You can't watch her and not think she's awesome.
