S/O What do you get your spouse for Valentine's?

He's taking me to The Hobbit tomorrow. I'm a huge Tolkien fan and have been waiting for it to come out since forever. He doesn't like movie theaters, so I feel pretty special that it was his idea and everything. My gift for him is totally random - I'm highlighting my hair. Weird gift, I know, but he really likes it and I haven't done it for a long time. My first idea was to get him a new wedding band, since his is a little tight. He wasn't too into that though for some reason.

I will buy myself something I have been wanting which will make me extremely happy. My happiness will be his gift, of course.

I usually try to do something homemade that doesn't cost too much. Hubby's not crazy about sweets/candy so I can't really go that route, and he's not into sports or gadgets. He's into tools, but he has what he needs and they're too expensive anyway! One year I did a deck-of-cards "56 things I love about you," another year I did a coupon booklet, this year I'm doing a countdown to Valentine's Day with a sentiment and small gift for each day leading up to the 14th. And we'll probably go to our favorite restaurant on the 14th.

I made mine a Shutterfly photo book of family pics. He loves them - he works a lot and misses out on a lot of time with the kids because of his hours, so he likes having pictures and photo books in his office at work
