Maytag Bravos Washer?

Wondering if anyone has one and if it changed the diaper laundry process?
Our old school top loader washer died without warning about 2 weeks ago. With a family of 8, plus my mom does all of her washing here, so basically washing for 10, I couldn't be without a washer for much time at all! So DH went and did a quick look at washers and 'surprised' me with a new set - may tag bravos. I love it so far, but diapers don't seem to be getting clean. The washer doesn't have the agitator like my old one did - so, do I need to do smaller load sizes, or should I just do a pre wash in the sink (this is what I've been doing for the past 2 weeks, because my first load I did without a pre wash didn't get clean at all!
Please let me know if any of you have experience with an agitator free machine. I really want to like this set!!!!!

Re: Maytag Bravos Washer?

Sorry, we don't have the Bravos so I don't know about cloth in it but my mom and dad had them and my mom hated them. She said she felt like nothing ever got really clean.

We have a bravos and never had issues getting diapers clean. I'd do a cold rinse/spin and a hot bulky cycle. We did end up switching to tide when we moved, but that was a hard water issue.

Eta: I only did full loads, so I don't know if doing smaller diaper loads would cause issues.

Re: Maytag Bravos Washer?

I just bought a Bravos the other day and I'm doing my first load of cloth diapers now. After washing regular clothes and looking through the glass lid I was kind of worried that enough water wouldn't be used to really clean the diapers. I did some research and the previous poster's wash cycles sound right. The bulky setting uses 49 gallons of water so that pretty much alleviates my worry of not enough water getting used! I found the info on washerdryerinfo.com.

This. I also switched to powder detergent.

Thank you for the replies! I will try bulky load tonight and see of this helps. Powdered detergent made a difference over liquid? What brand do you use? I currently use tide.

Re: Maytag Bravos Washer?

I pulled my diapers out of the washer and they look and smell clean! I did the cold rinse/spin and then the bulky cycle using hot. I use Rockin' Green or Charlie's Soap. Please let me know how Tide works out. It would be much easier for me to just stick with one detergent for everything instead of using a separate one for diapers. I know I could use Charlie's soap for everything but I just love the smell of Tide.

Tide seemed to work fine. . The bulky cycle seemed to do a better job. Diapers smelled and looked clean...there is hope for this washing machine.

Re: Maytag Bravos Washer?

I have a whirlpool cabrio which is the same type of machine...love the bulky cycle, always do a full load AND if you can add the plastic dryer balls for more rubbing action it cleans better than my old FL.
