Good leg fit with flats?
What type of fold do you use to get a really good fit around the leg with your flats? It seems like I always have to poke all the extra loose fabric into the cover once I'm done.
I love the fit I get when I use PFs: I lay it open flat on the floor, then put baby on top and roll each side in, sort of at an angle. Then I pull it up between his legs, spread the front corners out and wrap the back corners around on top of them & stick with Boinogs. It's prefect really, but I don't have many PFs and I like how much easier my flats are to wash & dry. |

Re: Good leg fit with flats?
Hahaha. I read this and thought "How do ballet flats make your legs look good?"

Re: Good leg fit with flats?
You could fold your flat into a prefold shape and then "apply" to baby the same way as a prefold.
I have best luck with a kite fold with jelly rolled sides (jelly roll is what you are describing with your prefold). I'm interested in tips from other mamas too!

We fold it like a prefold and then either do an angel wing fold or a jelly roll. Don't forget to pull the wing up towards the arm pit before coming over to the front. That was one of the best tips given to me.

Re: Good leg fit with flats?
I'm going to try out the kite fold with the jelly roll and & like the idea of pulling the wing up first (I never would have thought about that!)
Can anyone explain how you fold a flat into a prefold? Are you basically just folding it in 1/2 & the in 1/2 again so you end up with a smaller square and then tri-folding the edges in? (did that make sense?) |

We used 2 Snappis sometimes. Dunno if an extra set of boingos would help in a similar way, crossing so they snug the leg and the waist.
