Soft floor covering for baby?

Now that ds(7wks) is starting to stay awake longer and is interested laying on the floor looking at toys and tummy time I need something to put on our hardwood floors. I had those foam mats for the girls but have heard they off gas for a long time so arent ideal. What would be the best thing for me to put down for ds?

I always just did blankets. If it was fairly thin, I folded it over or doubled up.

I did blankets folded over or I would put the "matress" from the pack-n-play on the floor.

What about a yoga mat or something like that

What about those floor rugs they sell at Walmart? I saw one there a couple days ago that was SUPER soft!
