Why doesn't my baby like to be wore :(

My now 20 week old hates my ergo she used to love it the first few months until we no longer needed the infant insert. And now she hates it. It like she does not like to be restricted. She's hates anything that she is buckled in like the carseat and stroller. Does anyone have any suggestions how to have her like it?? or did you child also do this?? is it a phase?? Its been going on for about 2 months now.

Maybe she doesn't like the straps blocking her view? I'd try a hip carry in a ring sling. Maybe she'd seem less restricted .

Try a different carrier? And do you start moving as soon as you put her in? Have you tried back carry with the ergo?

Re: Why doesn't my baby like to be wore :(

I'm no help, but I'm having this problem with 4 month old ds too. I only have a sleepy wrap, which he used to love, but now hates. He does seem to prefer the stroller, so I'm wondering if the wrap is too confining for him. I'm thinking about switching to a different type of carrier, but don't know what I need.

Re: Why doesn't my baby like to be wore :(

A friend let me borrow her ring sling and she seemed to like that more. But kept turing trying to look forward so I don't know if Ill get one of those or not. And my mom bought me a Beco gemini because of the smaller seat snap in option because my girl is very petite and she likes that more. I think because she can move her arms and legs more than she can in the ergo

Re: Why doesn't my baby like to be wore :(

Sadly I had the same problem...and ended up giving up on babywearing. But then a couple months ago I decided to give it another go and my daughter loves it! She never liked facing me so I started experimenting with different front/Hip/ and back carries and now she never wants to be put down. I would highly suggest trying a Beco Gemini if you are looking for a good carrier because it allows your LO to face out. And if you want to try Front/Back/ or Hip carriers I would suggest getting a woven wrap. = ) hope this helps...Just dont get discouraged, try it and if it doesnt work then just put it away and try it in a few weeks or so.

I'm with the others about wait a bit then try again; repeat as necessary. My LO hated head confinement, but once that part was no longer necessary, babywearing has been successful ever since.
