We took dd when she was ten days old and it costs $20 per visit. If she's clean, they don't charge.

Re: Babies and chiropractors - questions

You might need to shop around....around here the chiro doesn't charge that much for patients without insurance. My insurance co-pay is $45 for an adjustment & massage therapy...but the doc charges $55 for just an adjustment without insurance.

I think I def. will. It's just a bit hard finding someone who takes babies that young. The first few places I called didn't take children until the age of 2. Both places recommended this place that is incredibly expensive.

Have you tried icpa4kids.com? That's how we found our current chiro that adjust infants and children.

Thanks! It actually listed 3 of the places I called, including the one that doesn't start until children are 2. I'll give the other places a call for sure. Some of the other places are a bit too far if I factor in commuting during rush hour after work.

I agree. I had chiro care for all of my last 4 pregnancies and my boys were all adjusted as brand new babies. I totally swear by chiropractic care if you have the right provider!

Re: Babies and chiropractors - questions

Our chiro has family rates, 35.00 for the whole family to come in. Our insurance has a 20.00 co-pay for each of us so I'm thankful for family rates.

DD started going to the chiro around 2.5 and it made a world of difference for her (she was constantly sick), DS had his first adjustment at 6 days old. We go every 2-3 weeks, sometimes more or less frequently depending on how everyone is. For example we were there on Saturday and went back again today (DS and I have been sick).

Arghhhh I misheard insurance the first time I called. My baby has to rack up $750 to meet the chiro deductible! If we go as a family,we have to meet the 2k in deductible payments before ins covers. Wow....just wow....I will be calling different places nearby and asking about payment plans as well.

Re: Babies and chiropractors - questions

My son's neck got kinked in the womb and he wouldn't/couldn't turn his head in one direction. So I took him for 3 visits about a week apart starting when he was 2 weeks old. Very gentle adjustments--he yelled through the first one and slept through the last 2. His range of motion improvement was immediate.

Just don't go for the cheapest option. Spines are dang important and not replaceable, so you want someone skilled at working with a delicate infant. The extra money might be worth it...
