Hugs. That is so awful and scary. My brother is a two-time kidney transplant patient, and I would hate to think of his family ever ending up in your DH's position.

Re: Insurance companies are evil

The transplant center is giving us 1 week of this medicine (free) which is great because he will run out Monday morning.

The nurses there have lots of experience fighting for their patient's needs and usually get what they want. They have told DH they plan on spending a large chunk of their time next week making calls and getting it fixed. Either through our pharmacy or this mail order pharmacy.

I hate not knowing though...it's terrifying

Did get a reply from the local newspaper, they said that it's being funneled to the appropriate sources and to expect a phone call.

I got pissed and tweeted them last night to thank them for putting profits over my husbands life and basically filling out his death certificate for us.

They tweeted back and requested my phone number.

I intend to inform them that I'm in contact with the local news paper (they want to do a story on us, one of their reporters emailed me this morning). And I'm waiting on a call back from Senator Tom Harkin.

Re: Insurance companies are evil

The public relations head called me back.

According to her there was a timing code issue or something...

Either way it's been fixed and they have our account flagged so we can refill early since our pharmacy is only open M-F

With these the formula has to be soooo exact. The generic isn't what his body is used to. Can't risk Canada for the same reason. Anti-rejection drugs are a constant tightrope walk...
