Had the diapers sat more than 2 days dirty? Sitting longer than often, or even once for 4 days, really weakens fibers, the oxiclean might have been the last straw. There's a Wazoodle.com article about how fabric eating bacteria become super active after 48 hours.

But yes oxi, bleach, and borax weaken fibers, as does soaking, more for elastic and natural fibers that I synthetics. It depends on the length of time and the quantity used, but it's hit and miss which quantity is safe.

Country Save removes the stains and dinginess in diapers I get FSOT. Too bad you can't get sample size.

I spray each diaper with watered down bac out after he poops in it and I think this helps a ton with stains. I do use bleach in the wash but the bac out must be preventing stains cause I have none.
