Re: KitchenAid Vs. Breville
my Bosch!!! My mom always had a KA growing up and never had problems, but she also never really used it to make bread. I wanted something that could hold up to kneading bread dough and the Bosch has not disappointed me. I have had 3 different friends have newer KA burn up trying to do bread. I think it makes a difference how you plan to use the mixer

Re: KitchenAid Vs. Breville
I have a Bosch Universal Plus that I love. Most of the people that have newer KA mixers and love them seem to make more cakes, cookies, and other recipes with looser doughs or batters. Bread dough burns the motors pretty quickly from what I've read.

Re: KitchenAid Vs. Breville
I have an ancient one too, past down to me from my mom. It has been awesome for us, but we don't use a ton of attatchments. I basically use the dough hook and the mixing paddle mostly.

Re: KitchenAid Vs. Breville
I <3 <3 <3 my kitchen Aid! Before getting one (a year ago) I was blowing through mixers twice a year! This one will mix everything for me, and instead of me having to knead the dough for bread (ruining my wrists), it does the hard work for me with ease. I love it.
The only tiny downfall I have is the blender attatchment because I found that I do have to scrape the sides with it while mixing. But, I see that KA has a new blending attatchment for about $20 that has a bowl scraper right on one of the whisks, so I may just pick one up (saw them at target). Other than that, I feel really good about keeping the jobs in America!
