Favorite carrier for a newborn?

I wore both my kids but never found a carrier that I LOVED. Id treally like to this time around.

Baby will be born in Aug in a hot area so something light and airy is totally neccessary. I've tried a ring sling (maybe something was off about it though cause it did NOT fit comfortably at all), a moby wrap and mei tie.

The moby was ok for dd was a newborn but it would be too hot here. I did NOT like our ring sling. The mei tie is great but doesnt have a hood and dont really want to get one.

Do you need a hood? I'm only now getting a universal one for my 9 mo old for my mei tai and ssc bc his head flops when he sleeps on my back but when he was littler the mei tai was tall enough. I used a mesh rs in the heat for newborns as well. I know you didn't like yours...maybe you could get to a baby wearing mtg and try some carriers out?

Oh and I have had 4 summer babies and just keep them in a diap and they were fine. By wearing them, they regulate their skin temp better and are cooler on you in a carrier

I could get a hood but really just don't like the mei tie with a newborn. I'd prefer a wrap of some kind. It might have been the specific RS I used too, maybe I wasn't wearing it right, or something... maybe the material was not clingy enough. Finding a meeting sounds great, I think our birth center does those every once in a while. Thanks
