Well, someone moved--I felt a big movement. And there's an empty space where Twin A's head was. Midwife is coming over to palpate position this evening, and if by some magic, Twin A is vertex, we will bind my belly.

Re: Preggo Twin Mama Buddy Group!

Hi everyone! I've been MIA from this thread for a while.
I am now 25 weeks with di/di twins. We've really been going nuts the last couple of weeks getting ready for these new additions! We've painted and set up cribs and picked out names, etc. I feel so huge already and want to make sure we are all good to go in case I don't feel up to doing much soon.
I'm with an OB who will deliver vaginally as long as baby A is head down. He delivered my first baby who was a singleton and it was a good experience so I'm hopeful it will go well again as long as the babies cooperate!

Oh my, you are stressing me out! Good job on all that work! We've painted almost the entire inside of our house, but still have to do a room shuffle. Crib is in the garage to be put together, but I cried at my last appt when the dr asked me about names. So hard to decide! We have a hard time w one! It's good you are getting so much done early. I would have done more earlier if I would have known earlier there were two! I am at a point where I'm not doing much at all; it's difficult, esp w all the things we have left. I'd try to get it all done by the start of the third tri just for peace of mind (obviously not my case!)
March- did baby A actually turn for you? Hope so!

Re: Preggo Twin Mama Buddy Group!

Wow, so glad this thread is taking off! Love to see and read all about what's going on with other twin mamas and twin mamas to be!

Brook - The OB group I go to is the one we were referred to by the base (we're military) so while I could go to another one, I'd have to change our insurance plan and that could be very costly. I'm going to talk to the doctor at my next appointment a little more about the birth situation and try to get some more info. I really think they just want me to be comfortable with a c-section in case that happens. DH and I have thought about it and talked about it a TON and even though I wasn't very excited about a c-section in the beginning, I really just want the babies here safe and to avoid any trauma that could interfere with breast-feeding and bonding. Unfortunately, NJ has been hit hard with malpractice suits so the c-section rate is crazy high here.

I've been really tired lately (still waiting for the 2nd tri energy to kick in) but have started feeling babies move! So awesome! Hope to come back and post more later! Good job you ladies that have gotten so much done! I feel like I haven't even started yet! I have lots of clothes and 5 pints of strawberries in the freezer and that's about it!

Re: Preggo Twin Mama Buddy Group!

Hi! Just found a bonus baby at our first prenatal appointment today. #4 and #5 are doing well so far! We use Maternal/Fetal specialists in 2 weeks to check on everyone and get more information.

Haha, I know ALL about switching insurance! We switched to one that would cover the birth center we were planning on going to, even though the premiums were a little more. Should have done an u/s first because we can't have twins there, so now we are paying crazy amounts for it all! Home birth is costing lots more than the hospital would, but having been in both situations, we decided its worth it for us. But I have no prior pregnancy complications, and my midwife I already have delivers twins, so it's different. C-sec is crazy high here too, esp for twins, hence my desire to avoid it . Of course, dh kees telling me he wont go in w me if that happens, so that may play a role in things for me too! Hopefully your ob is at least willing if things are looking good! My midwife just sent me an article on how c-sec is not better for twins from a Canadian study. As long as there are healthy babes, that's all that really matters though!
I really hope you get 2nd trimester energy! I swear I totally skipped the 2nd trimester and went from 1st to 3rd. Not fair!

Congrats! It took us a very long time to get past that shock! You sound good! Glad to hear babies are doing well so far

Re: Preggo Twin Mama Buddy Group!

bai - Don't worry. It will all turn out fine in the end even if there are still things to do. DH and I are both crazy people about being organized and even so I have tons of things still left to do. All of dd's things are up in the attic. I haven't taken anything down yet to see what I need and don't need for baby. I should really get a move on with that!

Kristen - I hope it all works out with your doctors. Just try to be really clear about what you want and don't want. It will be harder to pressure you if you stand your ground. I know what you mean about the c-sec rate here. It's crazy!
I feel for you with the tiredness. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I really only got a couple of weeks of energy around 18-22 weeks where I felt good. Most twin mamas have told me the same. I'm totally exhausted again and assume I will be until birth. Of course then, I'll be tired for another reason

Leslie - Congrats!
