Talking What did you pay for placenta encapsulation?

If you don't mind sharing, can you please tell me what you paid for placenta encapsulation? We had a really hard time finding someone to do this for us and I am just curious what a "normal" price is for this service. We are being charged $150 for it.

Thanks Mommas!

Re: What did you pay for placenta encapsulation?

you just reminded me to contact someone. Message sent.. maybe I'll have information soon.

ETA:

alright.. well.. she just got back to me.. $200.
now I'm sad.

I totally think it's worth it. because I dealt with milk and depression issues with DD.. but ugh... $200... I don't know what I expected, but I guess I expected less.

I just heard back from a friend who is a doula and she said the norm is $100-$250. I had severe PPD and ppa with DS and I am willing to try anything this time around!

Re: What did you pay for placenta encapsulation?

I signed up during a special offer for $150 but normally I would have been charged $200.

Last time I actually didnt pay she did it for me for free since she didnt make it to the birth (which was so NOT her fault lol) This time I am paying $125 for my midwife to do it for me

I am paying 200. The piece of mind I will get that maybe I will function and not have severe PPD this time makes the price well worth it.

Re: What did you pay for placenta encapsulation?

I don't have any pricing info to share except to say that I would DEFINITELY pay $150!!! I did it myself after my youngest was born because there is no one within over 150 miles that does it here. I would have had to ship it overnight packed with dry ice to someone in Austin. So I did it myself in the oven since I don't have a dehydrator. It really wasn't hard, but it was just such a process that I'd much rather pay someone else to do it!

Re: What did you pay for placenta encapsulation?

running into a slight problem....

she says it needs to be in an actual refrigerator (as opposed to a cooler) within 4 hours. We're giving birth an hour away and if baby is born at like 2am, I am not sending DH home to put the placenta in the fridge.

do you think it'd be weird to ask my doula if she'd be willing to keep it in her fridge for a few hours? She'll leave soon after the birth and she lives local where we're giving birth. I hate to ask, but I just don't see any other way to do it. She's not the one who's going to do the encapsulation.
