Back pain already?

When I was pg with DS, I would get this terrible low back pain, especially from vacuuming or mopping. Today I vacuumed and mopped and the awful pain is back :-( I try to keep good posture all the time, and am especially cognizant of my posture while doing these things. Basically, my lower back aches right now but when I go to stand up, I can't stand upright and have terrible pain that shoots from my lower back through my hips. I have to stand for a minute before trying to walk or I'm sure I would just fall down. Does anyone else have this? This has happened outside of pg too but it is pretty rare for me.

Re: Back pain already?

My suggestion - don't mop or vacuum

No, seriously, i have to use heat on my back at night. It started really early this time. It is just the way my uterus tilts and hits something when i'm pregnant and somedays the pain is worse than others. Seems like there is nothing i can do except NOT try to do things that i know aggravate it.

Yep - siatica. I have it HORRIBLE on my left hip. There are excersizes you can do to help...but they don't help me much. :/ I have to go to the chiro.

Re: Back pain already?

Mine started when I was pg with my first, and being on my feet all day at work (hairstylist).
As I added weight it got worse too. (non baby weight) Now, with this pg, if I am on my feet for too long it kicks in. It sucks.

Ugh. Well thanks for the confirmation, ladies. I will check out the YouTube videos and I am going to talk to my good friend that is a massage therapist. And I think my mopping days are over for a while :-p Do you guys find that chiropractic helps the sciatica?

I highly recommend chiropractic treatment. I have sciatica and a sacroiliac joint disfunction. I felt better while pregnant with DS getting 2-3 adjustments each week than I ever have. I even went almost 2 weeks past my due date and felt great! We moved and changed insurance so now it's not covered.
