Since we're all sharing... my baby girl finally arrive February 20th! She came three days before my actual due date. I expected to go earlier because my last one was three weeks early (I was also hoping, since I've been so uncomfortable this time around). I was worried she would be a big baby based on weekly ultrasound measurements for high-risk, but she ended up being a little peanut!

A week before the delivery my midwife said I was at 3cm and swept my cervix, saying I could deliver the next day. She got my hopes up! For a number of days I kept having stronger, more regular contractions, which just fizzled out - very discouraging! On the morning of the 20th I had another apt, midwife said I was 5cm and swept my cervix again. She gave me some "homework" and told me to come back to the hospital at 2pm - I would be having the baby! Of course I didn't believe her.

Well... went home, DTD, lay in bed for 20 min, took a hot bath for about 30-45 min and contractions immediately picked up. I was surprised! Midwife called to check on me; my contractions were about 3 min apart but only 30 seconds long and then evened out to about 5min apart and she told me to come right in.

Got to the hospital around 2 and was a bit discouraged when I was checked and only at 6cm. Walked around, stood in the shower, midwife broke my water, ended up giving birth at 5:15pm. It was a wonderful labor and delivery - but man, I forgot just how much the pressure and pushing hurt! - and she was out in about 4-5 contractions. Apparently she slid right out after the head so now I'm dealing with stitches - always fun! But of course it's all worth it.

congratulations. similar size to my second . i was 4 days early & my boy was 9 lbs....
