People get shingles because of lack of exposure to pox (as in get it once and never get exposed again). Their pox immunity lays dormant until it flares and attacks the body. When someone who has had pox before gets re-exposed the immunity keeps rebuilding (natural booster).

Most people don't understand this. Which is what makes the vaccine so appealing. With the vax you do not have a lifetime immunity and have to keep your booster up to date because pox is very very dangerous as an adult (as in deadly).

I'm not meaning to start a debate...just explaining the cycle that is created by the vax.
