Did anyone have problems with other people saying you shouldn't be working, or making rude comments about your 9-month belly? I worry about that.
My boss kept making comments on Friday when i was 39 weeks that I looked "done". He meant it in a really nice way and was overall super supportive. However, I was very preggo, maybe a little cranky, and still had a week to go, so his comments did aggravate me.

Maybe after 5 kids and tons of grand kids he had some intuition, because she was born that Sunday, a week early.

I worked until 39 weeks. I had every intention to keep going, but my blood pressure got stupid high. Being a nurse, my shifts were 12 hours, every bit of it on my feet. So I took the doctors advice and used the last couple of weeks to rest at home!

Re: How close to due date did you keep working?

Worked up until she was born two days after her due date, which was good for me. However, towards the end (last 3 weeks I think) I went down to parttime because I was so tired (which I was able to do) and that worked well.

I worked the day I went into labor. I thought for sure DD was going to be late, but she was born on her due date. I came home at 6pm and my water broke around 10:30pm. She was born the next day which was supposed to be my last day at work. We had Thanksgiving potluck my last day - good thing the pregnant lady didn't miss that!

I worked until the day I went into labor, didnt mean to.. I went to lunch and my water broke! For some silly reason I walked back to the desk to explain why I couldn't come back to work...

When LO was born I worked that Friday although I left an hour early. My son was born 1 pm that Saterday. Though, I will admit the last month I was leaving early a lot.

Re: How close to due date did you keep working?

Right up to the end. I had a scheduled C section with this last one so I knew the day, but that last week was touch and go for awhile...I thought he might be coming early! I really wanted to maximize my time off, though, and not use any leave waiting for baby.

I worked 3 and 5 days past my due date with #1 and #2.

#1 came 11 days past his date and I would have kept working up until he was born but my manager said go home sleep now yada yada.

#2 was 7 days past his due date and I worked up until 2 days before he was born, only stopped because I was so worn out after work with having an almost 2 year old to take care of and I was dilated to a 4. It would have been awkward to go into labor at work if my water would have broken since I work at a dealership.
