Boy

Castiel Ocean Alaric was born this morning at 1:04am. He weighs eight pounds five ounces, and is my heaviest, though also earliest baby. He is twenty inches long, fourteen and a half inch head and lovely and healthy. Cas was born here at home with Daddy, midwife and midwife's assistant and one of my best friends as birth photographer in attendance. I'm feeling just fine, though weak and tired. Birth was hardest this time around, as Castiel decided to take a nap once I got the whole team here and ready for go time and contractions stalled out. To get contractions to pick back up and get him out, I had to walk up and down the stairs and all over the house for over an hour and far past the point of exhaustion. When he was finally right there at the end, I moved onto the birth stool and he was born there in our living room. I had a six hour birth playlist loaded and the song playing when Cas was born was mOBSCENE by Marilyn Manson. This was also my first birth to start with the water breaking and so that may have contributed to difficulty later, as he may not have been in the best of positions. Daddy announced the sex of the baby and I let my friend cut the cord. This was the first and only natural birth that she has ever seen and attended. I am a warrior Mommy.

His hair is either brown like big brother Lucius' or maybe even black like Daddy's. I'm sure his eyes are blue, though he has spent most of his time sleeping, so I haven't gotten a good look at them. He's a little chatterbox and makes his newborn grunt noises constantly. His brothers will meet him later today, as they were taken by their grandparents last night before the birth.

I was wrong all along and Daddy was right, as he always is. I have a house full of blue.

Congrats! He is such a cutie.
Why are the dads always right! I though YDD was a boy all along, DH thought girl and well, he was right!
