I am mad at graco

Dd is 21 lbs & 8 months & 27inches tall. 90% on height & 87%on weight- I know she is a big girl but still. She has plenty of room at the top of her infant Carseat.
The strap has ran out of slack. It is sipposed ti be 30 pounds 30 inches. Literally I just moved the shoulder straps to the tallest setting & I had to take her out and put her in a sposie so she would fit. Today I went & borrowed my friends Chico magic infant Carseat which is suppose to be the same 30lbs 30 inches and she has so much more room & so much more cushion & so much more extra slack in the straps!!

I am impressed by this Chico brand and am kicking myself for not getting it to begin with.

So I called graco today to see if they have a strap extender & they said oh your straps may have been cut too short. WTH ?! Seriously. I thought it was all to the same standard. So they are mailing me a new harness in 2.5 weeks. So we will see

When you moved the straps up, did you also let out the loops on the back of the seat? There are two sets of loops, one makes them shorter and the other longer. You can do the same thing on the hip straps.

Yes this!

My friend had the same problem and I showed her how to make the straps longer. Her DD is 18 months and 30 lbs, so I'm sure you can make it fit your DD!

I bet you didn't release both sets. There are height adjustments and hip adjustments. You only mentioned raising the harness, not widening it, so I would check that.

I wouldn't be mad at them regardless...they are sending a new harness set for free so...? I absolutely love our graco snugride 35! My DS is in the 90ith % on both height and weight and used the SR35 until he was about 15 mo and fit great.

Re: I am mad at graco

I have really liked Graco, and they do have excellent customer service (well in Canada anyways). Our buckle on one Nautilus developed cracks and they sent out a replacement free of charge without even asking for pics of the damage, which I had taken thinking they would want!

Also don't forget they have the second loops on the hips too. I had a friend with the same problem and that's what fixed it

I agree about the hips! I'm familiar with both seats! (like the chicco much better though, lol) and those hip adjustments make a big difference!
