postpartum belly binding??

Anyone going to belly bind after? I think I am going to try it this time. But if you have done it, how soon after did you start wearing it?

I think I may have a diastasis. Either way, can't hurt (assuming it doesnt get too hot.....its TX and I will be wearing it in summer).

I think I am going to get a squeem (reviews, anyone?)......I have a belly bandit but it is too thick and hot....it buckles at the waist and its not long enough for my torso.....I just hate it.

Re: postpartum belly binding??

I am due in April and I have the bamboo belly bandit I really wanted a bellefit but they were out of my price range. I also got some spanx power panties and a shrinxhips binder. My hips are horrible about going back together and I hate that feeling like your abs are mush and it is hard to even sit up so I got both. I am planning on wearing them as soon as I get cleaned up after delivery and for about 8 weeks pp.

I'm in the July DDC but thought I'd hop in. If you think you have diastisis, definitely put a binder/support on as soon as you can after delivery. It helps a ton. The last 3 births I just had the $25 one (medela? Brand maybe?) but I found a Cinch at a consignment shop for $15 and I think I will like it much better for this time. I have heard good things about the squeem, too.

I always put mine on as soon as I get out of bed to use the restroom after delivery, so about an hour an 1/2 after birth.

Re: postpartum belly binding??

I used an original Belly Bandit last birth (baby #2) and found it uncomfortable but better than nothing. Friends assure me the Bamboo Belly Bandit is waaaay more comfy. Plan on using that with this birth. Want to put it on as soon as I get cleaned up and mobile after birth. Really helps with that "organs flopping" feeling immediately PP.

Re: postpartum belly binding??

You will laugh, but I will, like I did the last times....

I used a cotton courtain (the name scapes me... the kind that is bunched up at the top of the window?) not a pannel... I am heavy, so I needed something that would go around me a few times!

I've also used flannel, even in the summer, was not bad.

I use it right the way after the birth... this last time it was great, I was not able to walk but when I wrapped myself I was able to walk....with no pain....

Do it right the the way....

=o)

Thank you! it works great! and I pinned it in two places, so it goes from the bottom of my ribcage to the middle of my hips... it is really nice though ugly print as all get out.... I've worn it over an undershirt in winter and right over my skin in summer
