I fought the Ergo "love" for years. I had a Moby, Sleepy Wrap, Wrap n Wear, 5 different Baby Hawks, an Action Baby Carrier, Beco Gemini, Girasol, Beco Butterfly & a few WAHM mei tais.

Last week I bought an Ergo (heavily used off here) and it is a dream! Both baby & mommy love it! I'm 5'1 short torso'd and 140lbs. Baby is 30 in & 20 lbs.

Thank you ladies. Your comments have been really helpful. I think I will try one on at the local baby store before making a final decision.
So far it checks out. I would ask for a pic of the male waist buckle & a pic of the waist tag on he inside. The waist panel. Then compare those to the pics in the links someone provided about how to spot fakes.

I think it is a great deal!!

Re: Ergo??

We have the Ergo performance and I love it! My little one is rather small- she's 16 months and only barely 20 lbs, but she's finally big enough for it. I found the infant insert to be more trouble than it was worth, but if you don't have to worry about that, I think they're fantastic!

Re: Ergo??

LOVE LOVE LOVE my ergo, best investment ever. I use it almost all day every single day, it is super easy to get on and off. I am 5"6 and 140lbs and as long as i adjust it once the baby is in i get a perfect comfortable fit. I even put my 2 1/2 and 4 yr old on my back! I started using it wth my little one around 5 weeks with no insert because it was hot summer time and i just rolled a blanket and slipped it under her bum and she was froggied legged until around 3ish months. Be careful of fake ones, they are everywhere

Re: Ergo??

My husband & I both loved the Ergo for when our youngest LO was about 3-6 months but after that, we preferred the Boba. The Ergo worked for when they were older, up to about 2-3, but I much preferred the Boba and wore our LO's in the Boba until they were 3-4. We still use it for our 18 month old, mostly, when we can't have him running around everywhere.

Re: Ergo??

I love my Ergo. I second the ones who mentioned fakes. I bought a fake one from a consignment sale. Definitely educate yourself about spotting the differences. Especially now that they've changed their packaging and symbol.
