Re: What do you think

Huh? I don't understand the question?

Are you asking if people should drink water free at a restaurant and add their own packet of flavoring to save $ ?

I think that is semi-tacky. Ask for a lemon and use a sugar/equal packet from the table.

Re: What do you think

I think it depends on they type of restaurant. Fast food is fine but a nicer place I would say no.

I think it's tacky. Just drink water and add a lemon if you must.

Re: What do you think

Only bring the water additives if it is a health thing, ie you need extra protein and get it via Juven or something similar. Otherwise, drink water or suck it up and pay for the drink you want.

Re: What do you think

Well i wanted to add that adding stuff to water is just going to prolong people's addiction/cravings to sugar. Trust me - i am a Coca-Cola ADDICT.... i LOVE the stuff.... crave it most of the time, but i only drink it once a week. However there are several scientific studies showing that artificial sweetners while calorie free are actually WORSE for your body than just drinking the full calorie version. So i don't view it as getting people to drink more water - i see it as people just feeding their sugar addictions, and IMO that's the cycle to break. The problem is that we as a society have replaced water with sugary, artificial everything. I think offering customers the option to put it in their water while eating out won't help people just make better choices overall - and actually will probably just prolong their temptations to make bad choices.

Just admit you are not going to make a "healthy" choice - enjoy the Coke while it lasts and then move on and keep drinking water.

I do it BUT not for myself, for my kids. I keep the packets in my purse. If we eat fast food, they may have a soda (diet due to diabetes). However, if it is a late dinner, soda is a no-go as most places lack a diet caffeine free option. So we allow 1/2 a packet in water.

As for others, I don't care what they do. I have seen people bring their own salad dressing, drinks & other items. No biggie.
