Help! I want to nurse with the Moby Wrap
I have seen videos on you tube where women seem to easily nurse their babe in the moby wrap....I have tried and it seems I have tied the wrap either too loose or too tight and it's just plain awkward. Any tips anyone? Maybe a sling carrier would be easier for nusing?

I have a wrap and ring sling. I haven't tried nursing in the wrap but have been able to in the sling fairly easily. I use it to feed DS when out and about. It's nice because you can do it without too much effort.

Re: Help! I want to nurse with the Moby Wrap
If you have been pre-tying it, I'd suggest try using a front wrap cross carry (the Moby website calls it the "kangaroo" carry) instead, that should help get it the correct tightness. But I definitely find it easier to nurse in a ring sling, because you can lower baby down to boob level really easily.

Thanks! Will maybe get a sling, a little sad though as I love my Moby!

Re: Help! I want to nurse with the Moby Wrap
I haven't been able to nurse with the Moby either... To get it loose enough, I feel like my daughter will slip out. I'm not a huge fan of ring slings. I've pretty much resigned myself to sitting down with her when she needs to nurse, and covering up with an Aden & Anais swaddle blanket.

Re: Help! I want to nurse with the Moby Wrap
It's totally possible, but a lot of people do find it easier in a ring sling. Because baby needs to be lower for nursing than they should be when wearing and not nursing, it often takes some carrier adjustment to get things just right, and a RS can be adjusted quickly and easily, either up or down.
You might also consider a mei tai. You can loosen the top straps to let baby slide down a bit to nurse, and then tighten when baby is done nursing. If you really like the moby, you might look for a mei tai with wrap straps to get a similar feel. The DidyTai is a great choice for a pre-made (non-conversion) mei tai, and it's adjustable for tiny babies and very supportive for older ones. |
