With strep I am generally an antibiotic person as I have a son who was born with a heart valve issue (nothing to do with strep during pregnancy, btw). I just can't bear the thought of further damage no matter how slight the chance.

That being said, I have a friend who shared this just last night: http://www.epmonthly.com/columns/in-...arm-than-good/ Which basically says the Cochrane group estimates a 16-hour reduction in symptoms with antibiotics, but ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or a single dose of corticosteroids is as good or better, with fewer side effects. And Cochrane is the go-to when it comes to accurate, evidence-based information, we use them in the childbirth world all the time.

Still, being pregnant, I would personally do the antibiotics.
