2 yo girl birthday ideas please....

DD is turning 2 on Friday.

She REALLY doesn't need anything and I have NO CLUE what to get her. We've had boys for so long I don't know what little girls like. Things that she can grow into and we can have for several years - so what is popular with todder/preschool age girls?

Ideas?

My 2yr old got the little people disney pricess castle on her second birthday. Then we were able to add pieces for other occassions. She hasn't played with it a ton, but I think it is something she will continue to grow into. She also loves her kitchen with felt food and dolls.

I have a 4 year old daughter and a 21m old son. My son is really, super into "cooking" right now. We have some nice knit pieces from Palumba.com and he especially loves putting the egg into a pan. Then again, he'll put the cookie or piece of bread into the pan too. He enjoys flat things in pans.

Don't underestimate the power of fake food! It's one of the few things my two very different children agree upon.

My MIL gave DD a small purse filled with bracelets and necklaces. DD loves playing dress up with them. For the longest time, DD had to put on a necklace and carry her purse if we were going out.

DD also loves nail polish.

Re: 2 yo girl birthday ideas please....

DD just turned two. Her favorite things these days include:
-her push trike. OMG she loves this hand-me-down, MacGuyver-fixed poor trike.
-play food as PP mentioned. Also play dishes, and washing the play dishes in the sink.
-art supplies in general. Paint daubers (like bingo things? I got some at Michaels), stickers, colored paper, colored pencils, dry erase markers, all big hits. Multicolored pompoms, little ones for gluing onto stuff, are her current favorite.

Actually, the sleeper hit of the Christmas season was a play fruit-you-cut-up and blender set (which I believe was purchased from TRU). The blender actually spins a "blade" and is great to use with said pompoms :-)

I got a regulations box and decorated the outside with colors, shapes and numbers. Inside I put colors, color books, pens, paper, nail polish, play dough, necklaces, bracelets, little people... And a few pairs of panties.
On top of the box, it said, (child's name) potty box.
DD LOVES her box. She will sit on her her potty chair just so she can play with the box contents.

DD's big 2yo gift was a balance bike. Her big 2yo Christmas gift was a kitchen.
