Washing in Japan

I'll be honest I barely know how to operate things in my household. My landlord showed me how to turn on the washer. We don't speak the same language so I just memorized the 3 button sequence she showed me.

Does anyone have tips and tricks to washing diapers in Japanese washing machines?

I live on base so I don't have a problem but from what I am hearing it is best to use flats and/or prefolds. You can post a pic of your washer buttons on Facebook or the local yardsale page and have someone translate the buttons for you.

Re: Washing in Japan

Another mama posted about having difficulty with washing her diapers in Japan. We are going back to visit family, and I was thinking about switching to cloth. It is expected I will have our son out of diapers by one year!!!! I'm afraid they won't have disposables big enough for him there.

Re: Washing in Japan

Did you figure anything out? I'm going to have the same problem soon, but with my washing machine in China.
