If Group B Strep + how long did you have to stay?

I've had two deliveries at two different hospitals both of which I was positive for GBS with. Much to my disappointment and despite trying various prevention methods I'm positive again.

Both times I received the antibioitc more than 4 hours before delivery. Once I was discharged at 24 hours and the other I was required to stay until my daughter was over 48 hours.

Curious what anyone else's experience was?

I just got 4hrs in between first dose of meds and DS3's birth (Monday morning), we were discharged Tuesday afternoon. Technically, DS3 was discharged first thing that morning, but I wasn't until later - waiting for labwork to check my platelet levels.

I was discharged about 30 hrs after DS's birth. Being GBS+ wasn't a problem, although I'd imagine it probably depends on your dr/health plan. CYA and all that.

Oh, and I *believe* I received a second dose of antibiotics about 2 hrs before DS was born. I don't really remember though.

I was + With both of my pregnancies. My daughter was born in a birth center with midwives and I was given 1 dose of antibiotics (it would have been 2, but then she was born!) We were released after 12 hours, however this was 6 years ago.

My son was born at home and we chose not to treat, and just to monitor. Everything was fine

I was positive with my first pregnancy, negative with the following 3 pregnancies.

Had 3 bags of IV abx, totally normal labor/delivery, no complications, we were released at 36 hrs after I BEGGED them to let me go home.

I was positive with my first, I honestly don't remember when I was given antibiotics as it was a long 19 hours until her birth. I ended up in the hospital for 5 days with a uterine infection (which they never said was related to GBS, but who knows)

#1- GBS+, received antibiotics, had to stay 48 hours.
#2- GBS+, NO antiobiotics, had to stay 48 hours.
My third was not born in a hospital.

Been GBS+ with all three and already know I am with current one too. My labors have always been long enough to receive two doses of antibiotics. I know I'll have a 48ish hospital stay but a lot of it depends on what time the baby is born. The last two were born in the evening but I was able to be discharged the afternoon of the second day, so not quite a full 48 hours.

I was positive for gbs (urine) during my 6th pregnancy. We left at 23 hours.

I had 3 bags 4 hours prior to delivery.
