Re: waistbands for knit longies

This pattern has a waist band without a cord, it folds over like yoga pants http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kumfytm-pants

OMG!!! Why didn't *I* think of that!!!!! I was just thinking about starting a thread about how to convert all our ribbed/drawstring longies to elastic waist!! This will take me about 10 minutes to do his entire stash!!!

Thank you poster, if you see this

Re: waistbands for knit longies

so like weaving in ends in the waistband- but going around and around with elastic thread.... (I want to do this with mine, or some, too)

and I still have to look up/ find the knit elastic so I can see the difference (I'm completely sure that's what I want and don't have).

Re: waistbands for knit longies

Sorry I didn't see your last post... I don't follow the stiches like when I'm weaving ends in... I catch one leg of each stitch on the inside that looks like a knit (on the inside, so really the purl sts). Does that make sense? Here's the elastic I use and I've started to just put it in the back of the pants because it doesn't really need it all over. I just tie a knot on both ends and sometimes I'll do 1 row and sometimes 2. I can take more pics and show you more what I do if you need more help... if you post here and I don't see it please feel free to message me.

Here's a pic of the elastic I use in the ribbing
