Radian Angle Adjuster

My going on 30 month old has been riding in a Sunshine Kids Radian XL80 RFing. We just bought a new van (2008 Ford E350) and I thought RFing would be soooo easy. Well, I was dead wrong. The space is huge, but the height of the seats are causing a lot of trouble. I have my 10 month old's Britax Roundabout 55 installed with LATCH in the middle of the first rear seat, but the Radian is laying on the back of the seat (in the 2nd row of the rear seats). The car seat is a couple inches from touching the van seat. For now I have it installed FF for him, but I was not planning to turn him any time soon. He's almost 30 lbs.

So my questions are -
Do you all think the angle adjuster will take of this problem?
If so where is the cheapest place to order one?

Re: Radian Angle Adjuster

The angle adjuster should give you several inches of space. I have them for both my and dh's vehicles (mini-van and sedan). Makes a huge difference especially in DH's car because the seats are pretty flat and the Radian was quite reclined without it. Doesn't make quite as much difference in my van as the seats are angled so the recline wasn't so severe without the AA. I bought mine at Amazon when I bought the seats.

Thank you!! Your reply is very helpful! The seats are pretty flat in this van also, so I really hope this will work to get DS2 RFing again!

Thanks! I did find it on there, I just hate Amazon b/c they don't take PP.

Re: Radian Angle Adjuster

I just got a Radian RXT and installed it in a 2012 CRV...if I did not have an angle adjuster, it wouldn't fit at all without the front seats being practically unusable so YES...it makes a difference!! I do have a question for the techs, though....It's sitting at 26-27 degrees and I've been told this is fine as long as it is a solid install. Is it?? Is it too upright? My son is 13 months. I'm just worried about it being less than a 30 degree angle and I definitely don't want it installed wrong but I LOVE this seat and will be heartbroken if I have to get something else because this one won't work for us.
eta- sorry for hijacking your post!!

Check your manual in case they have changed anything...

But my manuals have a diagram in the RF instructions that say, basically, any angle that is at least as upright as 45* is fine. If your manual says the same, then your angle should be fine!

I didn't see it mention anything about proper angle for rear-facing anywhere. I will go back and look again just to make sure I didn't miss it.

Re: Radian Angle Adjuster

The AA came today and it fixed the problem! Just barely though. The seat just barely touches the seat infront of it, but does put preasure on it. That is fine for a Radian, right?
