Re: More Flats Love! - Ironing

I was under the impression that people iron because the hemmed edges can curl.

I would totally iron diapers before anything of DH's! He's perfectly capable of ironing his own clothes, and does! Every once in awhile he'll iron a shirt for me too

I ironed flats once or twice along the road, but never as part of my "normal" routine by any stretch of the imagination!

Yep, we kill most of our insects with pesticides. Poor bees.

Re: More Flats Love! - Ironing

Are you kidding? I get my iron out once per year, and that is the only reason we even own one. We do the iron on transfers for Bible school shirts, and if I could find a way to get out of that, I would.

I remember someone saying that too though...I think it was to kill any germs. Although if your washer is doing its job I wouldn't think that would be an issue. And I'd choose to bleach over ironing any day.

Re: More Flats Love! - Ironing

I would never dream of ironing diapers. I don't have a problem with curling edges when I line dry. The dryer curls them up after just one wash.

Apparently, I need to line dry my flats to get rid of the curled edges, because I haven't managed to bust out my iron yet. I hate ironing!

And if you do, how often and why?

I vaguely remember someone mentioning in a previous post awhile back that she ironed her flats for health reasons and that comment has just stuck with me. Now I'm curious what everyone else is doing!
I saw a post where someone talked about ironing to kill yeast. If it really kills yeast I can see ironing as a very easy and smart option for yeast control!
