I was going to get some superbrites as well, but not sure how useful they will be, so would be really helpful to see how you made it work . Just didn't realize the cut of the prefolds before ordering them.

Only cover it has worked in so far is the Nana's Bottoms preemie as they are trimmer in the crotch than the other brands I have tried (much nicer!). So I have ordered lots of these as we were planning to do a lot of trifolding in that stage as well!
Fold the other way (against the seams).

I have tried that, then they are way too short for the covers. It's either too narrow lengthways or too short lol...Either way the baby is getting mostly PUL against the skin.

Hmm. I fold them across the seams too, and the preemies fit perfect in the covers, the newborn are too long but work if I stretch the cover over them...
maybe fold the preemies the long way but not fully tri-folded so it covers the pul more, I'll try to get a pic.... what covers are you trying?

Re: cloth diapering newbie twins

I tried Bummis original, rumparooz newborn and thirsties duo (both on smallest setting). They are all SO wide. The bummis and rumparooz get down really tiny in the rise and legs, but the fabric is so wide. I haven't ordered any superbrites yet to try and am hesitating a bit as my plan with them was only to use with the trifolded preemie prefolds, and now not thinking it is going to work. I think I have enough for newborn stage so only really wanted them for the tiny stage before that. Not sure if they are trimmer and not as wide as the originals?

I did sort of get the rumparooz to work if I basically just lay the prefold flat (barely fold any of it)- the others didn't work like that with their shape. But it is still SO bulky and wide and then they just have the one layer of absorbency. If I double up two preemies in the rumparooz it actually works great but is definitely way too huge for a preemie then, more a big newborn. So will probably do that once the preemie is not enough anymore.

I'll try to take more pics of how I fold them and also of a flat. I do have a rumparooz nb cover to try. I don't like the rise snaps though on it...makes more bulk!

Thanks so much, that would be great.

Yeah I am not too fond of them either. They get down smaller than the thirsties but are much bulkier, especially in the front bit when snapped down. I wish I hadn't ordered them without seeing first. I was thinking they would be a similar style to the lil joeys which are so trim and tiny. But I am not a fan of anything OS, so I probably should have listened to my instincts better lol
