Green Tea?

Is it safe during pregnancy. I have been drinking a lot of it lately. I didn't think anything of it until a friend said it was dangerous during pregnancy. My doctor never mentioned it as something I should avoid.

Re: Green Tea?

It can block folic acid absorption, but you'd have to be drinking ridiculous amounts to have that happen. So it's fine in moderation. What do you consider a lot is the real question I guess?

I never heard of that either and drank green tea daily in this pregnancy.

My OB said a cup or two a day was fine. I would cut back if it were more than that, though.

Even assuming the the maximum amount of caffine you're still only slightly over the limit. Anyway folic acid is most important really, really early in pregnancy I think you're fine.
