I had the same experience with my girl and weaned at 9 months since I couldn't keep up my supply pumping at work. 2-3 oz max a session and I pumped 3x a day.

I am now nursing and pumping and I get 5 oz every session. He is 6 months old and weighs 3 lbs more then my daughter at the same age.

I have the same pump, the same lifestyle, nurse on demand when not working, same food habits etc. The only difference is I took birth control with my first and am not currently. Hubby is getting a "V" at 1 yr. I have lost 25lbs this time and my supply is amazing.

Re: Let down issue

I am trying to lose weight and just started walking 3 miles a day hoping that would help with the milk production. I also don't drink soda at all and try to eat really healthy. I also went off birth control bc after my son my husband go a "v" also. Maybe the walking and working out will help with production. I would just love to pump and at least give him a cup. he has a biting issue right now and it's really starting to hurt

It's normal to get 3-4 ounces if your baby nurses worry 2-3 hours.

Ounces and ounces is OVERSUPPLY.

That is good to hear, I had supply issues with my first, there were many issues going on but I suspect one was BC. I had Mirena inserted at 6 weeks post partum. I'm not going on anything hormonal this time so I hope things will go better.

I'm the same way, although I'm pumping right now and actually getting something substantial for once!

Re: Let down issue

I'm a working mom who pumps 3-4 times while away from baby. I will get 4-5 oz in the morning if I am lucky. Afterwards I am lucky to get 2-3 oz. This morning I didn't even get half an ounce from my first pumping session.

My daughter doesn't drink much while I'm away from home (maybe 6-8 oz total within a 10 hour period), so we've managed these past few months.

I am ordered Mother's Milk Tea (should arrive tomorrow) and making lactation cookies though.

ETA: How long are you pumping for? I just switched from a Medela PISA to an Ameda Purely Yours and it took me almost 20 minutes before I had an effective letdown with this pump. With the PISA, I could get a few oz in 10 minutes.
