britax 85 vs radian r120

so i have a nissan quest(02)
4 yr old is in a safety 1st ca70. my 2.5 year old is in captains chair rf(evenflo triumph) but will have to give up this spot in awhile when the new baby comes.
I will have to move him to the back and ff so it will be 2 carseats and 1 older child.
I will need all the space i can get but also would like the best seat that is going to last the longest. Also appreciate ease of use and non tangle straps and no rethreading of the britax. But I keep hearing and seeing over and over that the radian is the slimmest. They look the same from pics lol. So what would you choose? What is the actual width of both? And if you have/had both which did you prefer??
Thanks for any info,tips,advice

We chose the radian. It is definitely slimmer than the bucket seat we had before. I think I saw a Britax at BRU. If I remember correctly it was wider than our Radian. The radian is heavy though. It was also a real pain to get the crotch strap threaded when we first got it in.

If you're open to other seats, the Harmony Defender is a combination seat that makes a good booster that's also pretty narrow. And the price is not bad, either.

I have three radians in my passat. My six year old and almost 5 year old FF. My 28 lbs 3 year old RFs.

I like that they convert to a booster as well.

Rear facing definitely requires a lot of room. I used a bucket for her for the first year, then an old style Roundabout until it expired in March. We switched to the Radian.

We have three vehicles and an offloading jeep. I won't tell you how many cars seats we have, but we do like the Radian. But we DON'T move the car seats around - and they are VERY heavy.

besides the width of radian are their any other features you like better because the britax sounds better. It won't be rf so I don't need that option.

looks like a good seat but lots of complaints about length of crotch strap. so difficult to find all the stats on these things

If you have a Complete Air then I would recommend passing it down to the 2.5 year old and continuing to rear-face that child. Then buy the 4 year old a Frontier. Even though the Radian does technically turn into a booster it has a 50lb minimum weight for the booster and you cannot adjust the shoulder height so essentially it's a useless feature.

1. how would I get him in the seat?
2. How would I buckle him rf in the back?
Right now he's in the captain chair so easy fo rme to get in and out and my 4 yr old I can reach in to buckle him and he can climb in/out of his own seat.
I am not opposed to turning a 3 yr old of average size ff.

You either climb in the van and buckle the child or go through the back of the van. If you have an older child with you then that child can help buckle. When we take my friends van her 5 year old will help my DD buckle in the back, even though she is FF she can't always buckle herself. If her DD can't help them either I, or my friend climb in and do it. If she was RF it would be the same way, or we would reach through the back. Lots of people load their RF kids through the back too.
