Establishing Stash

I'm WOHM but I'm not heading back until July or so. When I have pumped so far, my yield has been minimal - 30ish mL. I have not pumped regularly, and maybe only 1-2 times a day, if that.
How often should I be pumping to establish when enough for I go back? Any recs? I'm definitely worrying she won't have enough.

You really should be able to just give what you pump in a day. For example I pump three times at work and DS take three bottles. I will often pump once extra in the morning or evening when he is asleep if I was short for the day. But you really dont need to "build up a supply" unless you are having a hard time pumping or you plan on weaning early and only used what you pumped.

When you pump you get less in the bottle then what baby gets in her tummy when she nurses. I think it is a good idea to build up a stash. It is totally normal to get 1-2oz per pumping session. I would try to add one more session to your day, most women produce larger amounts between 1am and 5am so if you are up anyway then might as well

Re: Establishing Stash

I started by pumping after DS went down for his first morning nap. I could usually get 2 or 3 oz. then. I kept up with that even on the weekends just to give me a head start for the rest of the week. That really helped make up for a low day of the week.

When I was back at work, I went in a bit early to pump once before my shift started and that coincided with that early morning nap time. It worked out well since my body was already used to pumping at that time.
