spam me with VBAC sources!

My DD was born via c-section (60+ hours of labor followed by 3 hours of pushing, baby would not budge, almost 10 pounds....I was just exhausted), and I do not want another c-section with our next baby, who is not conceived yet, but I'm planning ahead. The whole labor process was pretty traumatic for my husband and he would prefer to just schedule a c-section. Please spam me with sources (websites) that I can show him explaining the benefits of VBAC!

As far as I know, the hospital I delivered in does not allow VBACS, and my OB told me both the day after delivery and at my 6 week follow up that I should have another c-section with next baby. I'm guessing he tells every c-section mom that because they just don't do VBACs at that hospital. I want to believe that my body can have a baby the way it was intended to! I have my yearly exam at this OB's office on Friday and I want to discuss my options for future deliveries. I like my doctor, but also really want a VBAC next time around.

thanks so much!

Unfortunately, you might want to find a different doctor. He can't go against hospital policy. I wish I had resources for you but I'm just getting started doing my own vbac research.

Aren't VBACs supported by the National Academy of Obstetrics and Gynecology or whatever its called now? Maybe start there ? I've had 2 vaginal births after a c/s with my first.

I think you definitely need to find a provider who would support your choice to VBAC! As for resources, check out ICAN:

Re: spam me with VBAC sources!

The ICAN site is great. I second it. Though if you look through their list of hospitals with VBAC bans, I'd still call yourself and ask any hospital you may want to deliver in specifically. The two hospitals that are closest to me were listed incorrectly and one that said it was banned actually allows and welcomes VBAC now, and the other does not. And definitely find a new doctor.
