Repairing tears in wool soakers -- Help!!

Hey mamas,

I have an upcycled soaker that I bought that has a small pull/tear in it. How should I go about repairing it? It's a really fine knit, so I don't see that trying to reweave it is going to be an option....should I just sew the hole closed with regular polyester thread and a sewing needle? Or something else? How do you even go about repairing holes in wool?

Please help!!! Any/all advice and tips are appreciated. I don't want to mess it up and have never had to repair our wool up until this point because I'm obsessive about keeping it nice. Thanks!

I have some that have old moth holes in them. I just used regular polyester thread and sewed it closed. They have worked great now for around 1 1/2 years that way.

Ah! Thank you, ladies!!! This puts my mind at ease.

I never even would have thought of the fleece or felted wool patch!
