How does this sound

Please Join L for a Cookie and Tea Party
Occasion: An afternoon with friends
Where:
When:
R.S.V.P. :

I couldn't decide whether I should put something like join us for end of the school year tea party or what. Not really sure what I should put for occasion. Its in lieu of a b-day party since b-day is in July and everyone is always busy. She wants to have a with her school friends, but its not a b-day party. i don't want to cause confusion by not putting an occasion since most people will assume its a b-day. Does an afternoon with friends sound ok or should I put end of the school year, beginning of summer? Its 10 days before school lets out for the summer.

I am printing these myself so I could pretty much put anything if anyone has other suggestions.

ETA: 2nd draft- this would be centered.

Please join L on Saturday June 1st for an afternoon with friends, as we celebrate the start of summer.
Cookie decorating and tea time from 2 to 4pm

I'd say to join us for a tea party, then explain "come join us for tea and sweet treats to celebrate the end of the school year! If it's warm enough we will have the sprinkler going. " or whatever little thing you want to add.

Re: invitation wording

I would change the format.

Please join L on Saturday July 12th for an afternoon with friends, as we celebrate the start of summer. We will enjoy tea and treats from 2-4pm. Moms and siblings are most welcome to join the fun if they choose.

Something like that.
