Natural fiber insert for pockets?

I've been stuffing pockets with prefolds and flats, but I have the following problem:
1. Prefolds are too bulky
2. Flats aren't absorbent enough

I'm DONE with microfiber - I won't use it. Same with blended items such as Charcoal bamboo and other "blends". However, I still want the ease of shoving one solid strip of material into a pocket.
I don't want to have to fold or wiggle anything in, so give me recommendations for natural fiber inserts that are nice and absorbent. If you sell them, spam away!
