Kidergarten History?

My son will be 5 in August. We did the first half of Primary Arts of Literature for Reading this past year. We will do the second half for Kindergarten, along with HWOT for writing, and Horizon for math. What would you recommend for a laid back history curriculum? I thought about reading through either book 1 of Story of the World or Mystery of History. I really like the Christian history included in MOH.

Anyone have thoughts of those two? Is there another you might recommend?

Re: Kidergarten History?

I really like both SOTW and MOH, but honestly DS got little to nothing out of either, we listened to the audio SOTW and I read MOH. He got tons out of Liberty's Kids videos and important people in history videos from our library. It could be that he's just more of a visual learner, but I can see how both SOTW and MOH would go over little one's heads. I didn't do mapwork or many activities with him, so that may have had something to do with it also. DS turned 5 in January and we used both resources from August to January.

That make sense. This past year we would read books about different historical figures and do a craft or something during the week. I'll see what else my library has I kniw they have all 4 sotw, maybe I'll just read from their copy a few weeks and see how Noah likes it.
