Re: Supplements and the breast fed baby?

The weight check thing is totally normal and our provider combined it with a lactation consultant "follow up".
Vitamin D deficiency is a really complex issue. Consider that breast fed babies do not need the same ratio as adults and children. Babies have lighter skin that is likely more involved in susceptible to the photo reactive synthesis of vitamin D. If you are taking a walk with you baby then you and she are likely both getting enough conversion of vitamin D unless you have dark skin and choose a diet high in cereals and grains.

Re: Supplements and the breast fed baby?

I am norwegian and english. I have been known to blind people in the summer. However I do see us taking a walk everyday provided it isn't raining.

I have been cleared by my doctor (oncologist is the one I worry about most) to take Vit. D supplements in the past. I think I will just get those for me as I trust them. We consume raw milk in this house so I have DS on a multi that has vit. D in it so I don't have to worry about him. Though the combination of me in him with DH makes it so he tans better then I do. He is often outside long enough in the summer to get Vit. D though when I have doctors appointments that becomes a challenge.
