Re: antibiotics?
I'm sorry you are having a root canal!
Yes taking antibiotics can result in a yeast infection or thrush. If my ds or I take antibiotics we also take probiotics to ward of yeast /thrush. Eating yogurt is also good(we don't do this due to dairy allergy though) http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/...ng-thrush.html the link has info on preventing thrush and probiotics hth

Re: antibiotics?
I would definitely take probiotics if I needed antibiotics. In fact I take probiotics every day and give them to my baby as well.
I would go to your local health store (or like Whole foods or something) and pick some up before you start your ABs. There have been a couple of times where my nipples have started to itch and I double up on the PBs and it went away.

Re: antibiotics?
Take some probiotics. Yeast/thrush is most definitely not as bad as having an infection from the dental work, which could become life threatening. Eat your yogurt, and take the Amox!

Re: antibiotics?
Lots of good probiotics for a solid month afterwards at least! Garden of Life's Primal Defense is one of the best out there

Re: antibiotics?
I had strep B when I gave birth to my baby so I was given a course of antibiotics. We've been struggling with yeast every since! I'm so scared of antibiotics now--so yes I agree, take probiotics and eliminate sugary foods for awhile after you take it.
