Buying Food on Etsy

Do you think it's weird? Would you do it?
I bought some spices from an etsy seller to give to my uncle last Christmas, and now I'm looking at salted caramels for myself, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with buying food from somewhere with no regulations...

I bought a childhood favorite, Venetian (rainbow) cookies without dye and they were fabulous. Didn't seem strange to me.

My friend makes the most amazing salted caramels and sells them on etsy
and on her website Stateless Sweets.

I make cookies and sell them on etsy. They're actually the only thing I've sold (I make hemp jewelery too).

Plenty of "regulated" food gets recalled so obviously regulations don't make foods perfectly safe to eat. Your tummys awesome digestive acids make foods safe to eat.

But don't people who sell food in general have to get licensed anyways?
