Biting

My 9 month old does this thing where she's bites and pulls back. It's mostly on her least favorite side. I tell her no and don't let her eat for a minute or so. It's usually when she's tired. Any other suggestions?

Re: Biting

Provide really good support on baby's back. When she goes to pull back hold her in place with a very firm arm. When she finds she "can't" do it anymore, she will eventually stop trying.

Hang in there!

Ugh - biting and pulling is the worst. I pop baby off and not let him nurse for 5 minutes. If she is doing it when tired I would definitely do what the PP said. Then put her down.

Re: Biting

I will make sure to not let her pull back. It's such a shock I usually tend to loosen my hold as a reflex. She used to laugh when I spoke to her sternly and she's stopped doing that so I think she's learning it's not cool.

All my 9 month olds bit, too. I think it is a phase.

My guy is 11 months old and bit from 9-10.5 months when his two front teeth came in. He's better now. He would laugh at me too but I would stop and say NO firmly and replace boob with a frozen teether

Re: Biting

Mine finally eased up on the biting after about a month of pain. He's 11 mo now, so i agree with kimmie and van1300... It's a phase.

The scrapes really hurt though. Sorry mama!
