Sudden pp weightloss, at 12+ months pp

It seems all the sudden I lost my pregnancy weight and I'm 14 months pp. I don't know if it's because I haven't tried on my pre-pregnancy jeans in a while or what, but people were telling me I was looking really thin, so I tried them on and they fit again. Is this strange? I tried them on over the summer and it was a no-go. DD still breast feeds about 4 times a day and what feels like all night, but other than that I haven't been trying to lose weight. Should I worry something else might be wrong?

That's how my body does it too. I hold it for about 9 months and then it all falls off really fast. If you feel ok you are probably fine.

That makes me feel better. I don't feel sick. My grandma freaks me out though. She always says, "You look like you've lost weight, do you have cancer?" Way to put a positive spin in things, grandma!

I agree, if you feel okay just be happy about it! If you are feeling particularly tired, weak, or something like that it might be worth getting checked out, but if not enjoy being slim again!

I always feel tired, but I have 4 kids, co-sleep with a constantly nursing baby, and I homeschool. I don't have time to sleep!

I did go to the doctor at one point to be checked because I just kept losing and losing. Thankfully nothing was wrong. I just started adding extra healthy fats into my diet until I was at what I considered a healthy weight. Once I stopped nursing I plateaued at my ideal weight.

Re: Sudden pp weightloss, at 12+ months pp

A lot of moms I know hold on to their pregnancy weight for about a year and then boom lose it all. This is especially true for breastfeeding moms. I think it's a combination of nursing and chasing a toddler.

Thanks for the replies. I feel much better. I'm going to enjoy fitting in my skinny pants and quit worrying.

I tend to start losing for real when I am 12-13 months PP (which also is when I get my cycles back). I always just assumed it had to do with my body regulating its hormones at that point.

I think it's normal to have a sudden weight loss at some point pp, for me it's usually around 4 to 6 months pp and I drop a lot and then inch all the way back down to pre baby weight.

I wouldn't fret about it, just enjoy it!!!
