Tips for a 6mo

I'm looking into doing part time ec for my almost 6 month old.
I work so it would only be part time.
Any tips on how to get started?

Well if it's pt, start with noticing the cues for poops, then for urine start with timing.... 20 minutes after he drinks, before bed ect...

Re: Tips for a 6mo

We started by putting DD on a potty seat at the first sign of a grunt or passing gas (both signals of bowel movement). poos were easier to recognize at first because of the obvious cues. For pees, I put her on the potty immediatly after waking, after nursing, and at least once an hour throughout the day. We have the potty seat that sits on top of the toliet. it has handles that she likes to hold on to-works great! I hate the little potties that you have to clean out so I am glad she likes the seat. DD was a preemie and EC would not have worked for us in the early months so we did not start until 9 months but she caught on very quickly.

Re: Tips for a 6mo

If breastfeeding, I would put LO over toilet if she would pop of more then a couple times. Usually it meant she had to poop. If you can do an how of diaper free time every couple days (just lay your LO on a towel) you can start seeing if they make cues, or how long intervals between pees.
