I've been a few times during different times in the year, and September is my favorite. If you go mid-month you get lower crowds, plus you can catch mickeys not so scary Halloween party which is hands-down my favorite night I've ever had at Disney. Plus it's the cheapest time to go as it's their low season and there's always great discounts available.

Re: When is the beat time to go to disney?

I have no clue about Disneyworld since I've never been, and I've never been to Florida, so I'm not sure on weather patterns there, but I live in Cali (Northern), and have been to DL many.

May is nice weather, but hit or miss. A lot of schools do their end of the year trip around this time. It actually starts in April.

Summer, forget it.

Never been in September, but will be there for DD's birthday next September.

December- We went Mid-Dec and it rained 4 our of the 5 days we were there. Low crowds though

Feb-rained one day, but I think Jan-Feb rides are randomly down for refurbishment. Low crowds

April-Awesome!!! The weather was in the 80's, light crowds, all rides were open, all parades and shows were on schedule. Clear nights for the fireworks show! The day we left back home, we saw a ton of school buses pull in (our hotel was literally across the street from DL) and I asked what it was for, and there were a few schools doing their end of the year trip.

I can't wait or our trip in Sept!

Weather and crowd wise, my favorite time is first week in February-ish.

BUT it is super super awesome to go for Halloween. I'm pretty sure it was Oct 31 we went, then literally the next morning we went ALL of Disneyworld was Christmas. I say at least once in your life you want to be there while they're in Christmas mode. And the weather is still great in November.
