Re: How sick does Thrush make you??

they gave him two rounds of fluids- and now we are back home, but supposed to come back first thing in the morning to be re-evaluated- they gave us the option to stay, but the doctor said he felt comfortable sending us home bc his oxygen levels were normal, white blood cell count was normal... we literally live right next door to the hospital so it's nice and close if anything gets bad again. not really sure what we're dealing with- flu, pneumonia, strep and RSV are negative. doctor says mouth still looks like thrush- but there is definitely something else going on too. Still fevering and refusing to eat or drink, and just wants to sleep.

Re: How sick does Thrush make you??

Thanks for all the goodvibes... DS is doing much better today- fever is gone when he is on ibuprofen/Tylenol; and he ate a popsicle earlier (thankful for small victories). Doctor no longer thinks it is thrush- and says his mouth looks more like a something in the family of hand foot mouth (but not hand foot mouth). He basically has huge open sores all over on his tongue and gum line. He will probably still need an IV for the next few days (they left it in his arm so we don't have to put it in every day) until he really starts eating and drinking (probably has drank less than 2-3 oz today). But we are headed in the right direction. unfortunately, mama is now feeling not so good- hoping it form the lack of sleep the last few nights, and that I am not coming down with something too.

Oh no I sure hope you stay well mama glad your little guy is feeling a bit better and hope that continues. Glad the dr seems to be figuring out what may actually be going on. I'm guessing there is no treatment for hand foot mouth type illnesses...? Thinking of you
