My Mood:
What is going on with his eyes? PIC

The last three days my son's eyes suddenly start looking sore in the afternoons and they get worst as the evening goes on. By bedtime he looks so sickly. He is acting completely fine and sleeping the same amount as always. His eyes start off looking like he has a bit of a black eye underneath and in the corners and then it just gets worst. He doesn't complain and says they don't hurt, but I do see him rubbing them and squinting often when it happens. By morning he looks fine again making it seem like a sleep issue. I find that odd though since he isn't sleeping any differently. Any thoughts? I will call the doctor in the morning to see what they think for sure, but until then I wanting to see if anyone had any ideas. Thanks

Here is a picture of him from early this evening.

Looks like it might be allergy related. ODD had something similar going on and was "prescribed" an OTC allergy liquid. Not Benadryl, but I can't remember the drug name for it.

I second the allergy related idea. My DSS had these eyes for a while. When we took him in the Dr. called them 'allergy shiners', did a blood test and found out he is allergic to milk. He also never complained and acted normally, so it was quite a shock that he was allergic.

Ours was an external allergy, like dust and such. I hadn't even thought of a food allergy! That actually almost makes more sense since it progresses through the day and gets better with sleep.

He went through allergy testing when he was 1 but it sounds like we might need to have it done again. No fun. Thanks for the info everyone!

Yep looks like some kind of allergy or sinus issue going on. Does he see an actual allergist/immunologist or just his ped?
